Quick Install with Homebrew

brew tap prietus/drdoctor
brew install --cask drdoctor

Manual Install

  1. Download the latest .dmg from the Download page
  2. Open the DMG and drag DrDoctor to your Applications folder
  3. Launch the app — signed and notarized, no security warnings

Usage

Open files

  • File picker: Click "Choose File" in the app
  • Drag & drop: Drag audio files onto the app window
  • Paste path: For network drives, use Option+Cmd+C in Finder to copy the path, then paste it
  • Finder integration: Right-click any audio file, Open With, Dr. Doctor

Network drives (NAS/SMB)

For audio files on network shares, the path input method is recommended. The macOS file picker may be slow when browsing folders with DSF files on network drives.

  1. In Finder, navigate to the file on your NAS
  2. Right-click the file, then Copy as Pathname (or Option+Cmd+C)
  3. Paste the path in Dr. Doctor and click Analyze

Requirements

  • macOS 14+ (Sonoma)
  • No other dependencies required
